A project for the Ordo virginum:

Jubilate 2021

Let’s give thanks! Exult!

And let us receive all the graces

that the Bridegroom wants to spread upon his Church today.

Let’s go up together to Jerusalem

from January 23rd to 31st, 2021

In the footsteps of the generations who have preceded us on this journey to Jerusalem, from feast to feast, from pilgrimage to pilgrimage, from jubilee to jubilee, since 3,000 years, let us go! (Cf. Si 50:1-21; Za 14:16; Jn 7:8-10)

“Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her, all you who love her!” (Is 66:10)

With them all, with Jesus, Mary, Joseph (Lk 2:41), the disciples and the holy women, let us welcome from now on the joy sung by the psalmist:

“I rejoiced when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’” (Ps 122:1)

And, on January 25th, 2021, we will be able to exclaim:

“And now our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem” (Ps 122:2)

But why?

On May 31st, 1970, with the promulgation of the renewed rite of consecration of virgins, the Church gave again the possibility of receiving this consecration to women living in the world, in the heart of a diocese. Grace, gift of the Holy Spirit for the Church and the world of our time!

The Ordo virginum will celebrate this 50th anniversary in Rome on May 31st, 2020, and we rejoice a lot in this opportunity which is granted to us to go to the heart of the Church, to thank, and to put us together under the fire of the Holy Spirit. This 50th birthday falls exactly on the day of the feast of Pentecost!

Also, in the momentum of this Jubilee and the great breath of Pentecost, we would like to propose you to go up to Jerusalem a few months later:

To go together to the source, where the Church – Virgin, Bride and Mother – was born and sent to all nations.

To go to this land chosen by Christ to follow him, to listen to him; for He says to the Church:

“So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. (…) Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice...” (Rev 3:16-20)

“I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.” (2 Tim 1:6)

To let us be instructed, comforted and healed together.

“As a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you; in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.” (Is 66:13)

May He widen the space of our inner tent; may He set our inner being on fire by His merciful Love for everyone!

To go to the Mother Church, to receive there healing of the heart, in order to live more fully our vocation of love, offering and intercession, so that we can become true Ecclesiae sponsae imagines.

“Rejoice with Jerusalem (…)! Oh, that you may suck fully of the milk of her comfort, That you may nurse with delight at her abundant breasts! For thus says the LORD: Lo, I will spread prosperity over her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent. As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms, and fondled in her lap.” (Is 66,10-12)

The revival of the Ordo virginum delights us! So many reasons for jubilation and thanksgiving!

Over the years, hundreds of bishops have called and consecrated women who have heard this inner call to the consecration of virgins at the heart of their dioceses.

More than 4,000 women from around the world have thus become “spouses of Christ.” Each one advances on a very personal, unique way of love in the heart of the Church!

The Lord has many gifts in store for his whole Church and seeks hearts that welcome them and make them grow.

That is why, together, bishops and consecrated virgins, we are invited to a particular project by going up to Jerusalem: to receive His Graces for the Church of this time, to present to Him the wounds of the Church and to intercede so that they can to become sources of life! And say, “Speak, Lord, your Bride is listening!”

This is what has been living in our hearts for more than a year now (for the History, click here) and which encourages us to propose to you to live with us this “pilgrimage-retreat” (and not a “classical pilgrimage” that visits all the holy places).

You can “go up to Jerusalem” by coming to the Holy Land, and we hope to be 500. To register, do not wait, it's here.

You can also “go up to Jerusalem”, in communion of prayer while staying at home, and we hope to be 5,000. We will propose you soon to register on this site, so that we can live together, at the same time, this spiritual undertaking.

On November 1st, 2019, on All Saints’ Day,
